Your future is in the cloud — but what's that?

    By Susan Bradley

We may know that computing is rapidly ascending into the cloud, but do we know where we're going and what the "cloud" is, exactly?

There's more to know about the risks of cloud services. For a report on the subject and ideas for consumers and businesses, go to http://www.worldprivacyforum.org/cloudprivacy.html. In one sentence, anything you put in the cloud may be readily vulnerable to access/use by the cloud provider (read the terms and service!), the government, and anyone who has an interest in suing you.

Don't care about your privacy? Okay, but there are more risk than privacy risks, and businesses are more vulnerable than consumers.

This "cloud computing" sounds an awful lot like what we old fossils called "using dumb terminals".
