If there are many others like you I suspect this won't be much of an issue.

I'll be willing to bet there are a lot of us. What I Really want is to be able to download all or the updates from sp3 untill now. Then I could keep them on hand for when
I have to reload XPpro. I know people who do IT and repair do this I just don't know how. the website you quoted is good but only goes up to feb 2010, there have been
    a whole lot after that.

Despite discontinuing support for an outdated and soon to be obsolete operating system, Microsoft will still carry most if not all the updates for download. It would also be wise and prudent to get these now in the event things change.

Security updates are available on ISO-9660 DVD5 image files from the Microsoft Download Center

Well, I should be over it by then.

I kept XP on a second drive when I got Windows 7 and I very rarely use it now..

There is a few programs I have on there that wont run on 7..

If I still have it and if I still have it by then I just wont use it to go on the internet...

But, then again I hear the world is supposed to end in 2012 so none of this will really matter....
