MS Security Essentials (MSE) Settings

Settings under Real-time protection for "Monitor file and program activity on your computer" lists three options...Monitor all files...Monitor only incoming files...Monitor only outgoing files. What are the pros and cons of monitoring outgoing files?

Obviously the con is more system overhead. The pro is that if an infected file gets on your computer somehow you will be warned before you send it to someone or try to load it to another device.

I hope never to get infected by any means. That's the reason I am so proactive in my security scheme. If however that ever becomes reality, I would hate to infect other PC's on my network or god forbid any others outside my network. This is what 2 way protection is all about. MSE helps to protect me from anything outside my PC from infecting me, and helps stop me from infecting others. The small increase in resource use is not enough to stop this 2 way protection. And MSE is considered to have a relatively small resource footprint to start with. Thanks MS for this very good free app.
