    Firefox 4 Beta

Has anyone installed the beta? If so, did you have any problems or difficulties using it?

I have used it and the latest version is much more stable and much faster than the released version of Firefox. The biggest issue is some add ons do not function as is typical with Firefox betas.

Waiting for beta to fix things

    I installed FF 4 beta.11 yesterday.

The Gmail Notifier add-on doesn't work in 4, and it doesn't display any of the bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar (just below the URL address line).

So I went back to 3.6.13 for the time being.

Hopefully, those will be fixed before 4 is finally released. I'd like to use that tracker-stop feature in 4 and I find Gmail Notifier so useful that I'll wait for the fix.

I noticed on a website I use, a zoom function for images doesn't work, it just turns the image white. I think it's a java script issue.

I have been using it since beta 3. Its a memory hog. Especially when you use tab groupings and have more than a few pages held. But its otherwise generally well behaved. I have had a few hangs and crashes, and when that happens I often lose all my tab groups, which I find really annoying because I use them a lot at work for troubleshooting research.

I have been using FF for years and just installed Beta 12 to see what was going on. I am really less than impressed. I see no speed increase and 3.x is already very stable on my machine. Beta breaks a number of very useful Add-ons and will not work on sites that use Citrix clients.
