    Macrium Reflect

I'm trying out the free version (30 day trial) and while I have no problem making images but I am confused about making the rescue CD.

The free version (30 day trial) out of the three options available for making rescue CD only LINUX is available.

Is that the one I make for Windows 7 ???

    See attached Image.

Also, I have no idea what the other two options are..An explanation would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Banyarola,
Hello... Yes the Linux one . Acronis as well as Macrium use "Linux" for their bootable recovery disks. As far as i know you would only need to make a "Win PE" if you have some problems with the standard "Linux Disk"running with your hardware \ software. Regards Fred

    Thanks...

Right no I use Acronis and may buy Macrium and use both of them in case one fails I have the other...
It's reasonably priced so I figure it's worth the extra insurance..

I also noticed with the free version you can't have the restore option in your boot menu. That's only available in the paid version.

I was browsing their forum earlier and only people that bought it are allowed to register there...
Kinda strange to have that condition...

    Anyway, thanks again..

    That was informative Joe...
    Thanks for posting the links...

From what I understand I can see why any image program would need that to restore an image...

Yes, I know you can make a CD with it.

It works a lot like Acronis...I guess they all work about the same.
