E-mails will not stay on desktop?

When I access an e-mail it comes up on my desktop but will not stay. I must right click it from the task bar several times to read it?

Is this a registery problem, a browser problem or an e-mail problem?

I have XP Pro,SP3,Win 2300. I keep a clean system with defraging, malware scans, & regscans.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

Do you mean your email window minimizes rather than stays open? Which email client are you using, OE? Win Mail? WLM, or something else? I am unfamiliar with Win 2300, what is this?
