Question about footnotes in Word 2010

I have two columns of text, with a footnote appearing below the left column. I would like the footnote to appear below the right column, even though the text that is footnoted appears in the left column (and I cannot move this text).

Is there a way to set the footnote to appear below the right column, even though the text it footnotes is in the left column?

    Thanks.

You could modify the style it uses to either set its paragraph indenting or right align it.

I don't think that the Footnote area uses anything other than 1 column layout irrespective of the page setup of the current section.
