E-mail attachments interchanged in transmission?

Hi, I am using IE 8. I am running Windows 7 Professional on a 64-bit computer. I recently sent an e-mail from my Yahoo account with a 1 page Word 2010 document as an attachment. The recipient received the e-mail, but the attachment consisted of a lot of web pages rather than my Word document. Question: Do packets of information sometimes get lost and/or interchanged with other packets of information during transmission? I wondering what happened to my Word 2010 attachment and how the web pages were received instead.

That is very strange. Did you send the email directly from the Yahoo page, or from a email client such as WLM or Thunderbird? If directly from the Yahoo web page perhaps you should try an email client and send by that means to see what happens. I do not use Yahoo, but do use Hotmail, but use WLM to access both my Hotmail and Road Runner accounts.

I sent the email directly from Yahoo mail. I do not know what an email client is. The whole thing is strange.

An email client allows you to set up and access multiple email accounts from within a client app (Windows Live Mail is once such client app). You can read and send to any or all email accounts from one app rather than going through various emails one at a time. For those having only one email account there may not be a big time saving. email clients have many other features including newsgroups, calendar functions, etc. I included a shot of my WLM to show what I mean.

Most of these email clients have auto complete so when you start typing an address in the To: field it suggests names from your contact list.

Thank you. E-mail clients do seem very convenient for multiple accounts. Can the e-mail client sign-in page be located on the desktop for easy access?
