    filtering in excel

    Hi,
I have a field in an Excel spreadsheet with contains set of numbers ie:
    24-36-88-124-176-224
I need to be able to filter on a single set, the problem is if I set the filter to 24, I get all the records which contain 24 or 124 or 224 etc.
    Any thoughts much appreciated.
    Iím using MS Office 2007

Filtering of numbers should not be working as described. Can you attach a sample file?

    Example attached:

    If I go Filter>Text Filter>Contains = 83

It will return the rows with 83, 183 & 383

I only want the rows with 83

    cheers Harry

I think you are out of luck as your sample is not consistent. If they all began and ended with ~ then you could use 'contains' and specify ~~83~~ as the criteria.

They do all began and ended with ~ and ~~83~~ works perfectly.

Many thanks, that's a great help.
