    Changing ink cartridge numbers

One of the incredibly irritating features of buying PC Printers is the constantly changing ink cartridges. We have two Canon MP560 printers which use ink cartridges PGI-220 Pigment Black, and CLI-221 (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black)

The printers work fine and we want to buy another one but they are getting hard to find. The suggested replacement (by Amazon) is Canon PIXMA MG5220 which uses Ink Tanks: PGI-225 Pigment Black, CLI-226 (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black). Notice the change in cartridge numbers. Are these the same? Can they be used interchangably so that we only have to stock 5 cartridges instead of 10? Or are they NOT interchangable? I can't find any comment anywhere about these ink cartridges, and it's so confusing and time consuming to have to buy so many different ones. Thanks for any comments or suggestions about how to avoid buying so many different ones.

It may be more money than you want to spend but the Amazon.com: Canon PIXMA MX870 Wireless Office All-in-One Printer (4206B002): Electronics uses the same ink as you currently use.

Thanks Joe - how did you know that? Is there a list somewhere of all the printers that use a particular set of ink cartridges?

I just did a search on Amazon for PGI-220 and the printer appeared in the "if you buy these together" section.
