MS Visual C++ on Windows 7 64 bit HP Desktop
Help! PSI keeps telling me 2 things that I don't know what to do about:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) is insecure and needs to be patched. I checked Add/Remove Programs and found all kinds of Visual C++ listings (see attached screenshot). What do I do with all of them? PSI only complained about the one I mentioned.
- It also tells me to patch Windows 7 with KB 2479943 and 2483614 patches, but Woody's MS-DEFCON is at level 2 which says not to patch unless vital. Do I apply or not?
... and I won't get into Adobe Flash Player here, which continues to cause headaches on my laptop!
Lounger advice will sure be appreciated! PSI is a wonderful tool but does cause panic and frustration in us non-techy types!!
