Problems installing new Outlook security update kb2508974

Office xp pro, all updates installed, tried safe mode and ccleaner. System acts like it installs this update but it doesn't and I still get gold shield. Tried to install manually from MS download website but I get message saying it can't update. Anyone else having trouble with this latest definitions update. Using MSE also.

I also can't install KB2508974. Outlook 2003, xp pro.

I also can't install this filter. Is it by some defeft program or spyware or is it a windows feature itself or what. Do I need to reinstall whole windows again. Is it so that only three people has his annoyance only and that's why MS doesn't react at all. ??

This update is only for the definitions used by Outlook's built in Junk filter. I don't think you need to reinstall Windows. It might even be a waste of time to "repair" Office, although you could try that. After doing a backup.
