The send/receive progress meter or indicator along the bottom right corner in Microsoft Outlook has disappeared. The status no longer shows up.
Would someone kindly tell me how to get it back? Thanks much!

Try turning the option off, shut down Outlook, start Outlook, and set back on.

Thanks Joe. Can you please tell me where I find the command to turn the option off? I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find one.
Help! Let me try and explain my issue in a different way... I have an installation of Microsoft Outlook2007. When I hit the Send/Receive button, I would like the progress bar to pop-up to indicate that Outlook is in fact verifying that there is no new email at the mail server. I have tried going to "Tools | Send/Receive | Send/Receive Settings | Show Progress" but that only shows the progress bar once. As soon as I hit Send/Receive again, the progress bar goes away and doesn't come back. This was working fine until a few days ago. I'm usually pretty good at figuring fixes for my stuff but this one has me stumped....
And suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
One last question for the team..... Can I uninstall and reinstall Outlook only without messing with the other apps, i.e. word, powerpoint, etc. I'm running office proffesional 2007. Thanks in advance for the help!
When I manually Send/Receive, I get a pop-up dialog that shows detailed progress for my two IMAP accounts. In the lower corner there's no bar, but there is a percentage.
If you want the pop-up, try this:
Tools > Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings > Show Progress
Remove the checkbox from the "Don't Show" box.
Does that help?
I'm afraid not.
I can manually send/receive and get a drop down box with progress. No problem there.
However still no send/receive progress meter or indicator along the bottom right corner when I launch the app. That is to say I used to get a status in the lower right hand corner telling me how many messages were in queue and progress of download...
What's happening now is when I launch outlook I have no indication if there are messages in queue pending download. I have to blindly wait and see if there are. I've sent test messages to myself and they come in fine. Just no indicator they're pending.
I tried uninstalling my MS Office Pro 2007 and reinstalling thinking it would fix the problem. Still no luck.
I'm sure there's some sharp shooters on the team that can help me fix this annoying problem...
Appreciate in advance your help!
Update... I think the problem is that the progress indicator is no longer showing in the system tray. Does this make sense?
Gotta ask the obvious here since no one else did....Under View menu, is Status Bar checked?

Tools > Send/Receive > Send Receive Settings ... > Show Progress
In the Progress window, check to see the "Don't show this dialog box during Send/Receive" *is not* checked. This will enable it to 'pop up' whenever you perform a send or receive action. This has caught me out a couple of times ...![]()
I have had the same problem but is solved by Clicking on "View" and then "Status Bar" and it re-appears immediately.

Try cycling the cached exchange mode (worked for me).
Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup -> Send/receive -> Edit accounts -> Account propertied -> Advanced tab
Check or un-check used cached exchange.
Restart Outlook, hit send/receive and see if it returns.
Then you can re-enable or disable cached exchange mode again by doing the same thing.
For some reason, when the cache gets messed up it messes up a lot of other things as well.
