printing select records of mail merge (Word 2000)

I have a user who is having trouble with mail merge from an Excel file.

The first problem has to do with extra records tacked onto the end of her list. The last two merges she has created have both had 5-10 blank records added.

The second problem occurs when she tries to print a selected number of records (say records 10-20). She uses the file|print command to set the reocords she wants to select. This will either lock up her PC or just be ignored. However, she can choose to print all records or single records.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: printing select records of mail merge (Word 2000)

    Hi Hohepa:

With regard to extra records, she should look at her datasource in Excel. It could be that the range of records that is being imported includes blank rows at the end.

With regard to printing records, is she printing "sections", not "pages". After doing a mail merge (say form letters), she should print S10-s20, not p10-p20.

    Hope this helps.
