2 pst files, make new default (Office 2000 SR-1)

    Hi,

I just copied my active pst file to a WME laptop. It already has an old pst file that it opens and is active by default. I would like to take the newest pst file, with all of its updated emails, folders, contacts, calendar items, etc., and make it the default. So that when email comes in it goes to this Inbox.

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Gregory

close outlook. find the old pst and rename it. you can rename the new pst with the old name and put it in the same location or just open outlook and when it whines, point to the new pst.

    Hi MaryJ,

Your solution is the first thing I tried. The result:
In my Folder List there is a directory for Personal folders, which is the new, up to date pst.
And a directory below it labeled Outlook Today (Personal Folders) which is the older pst. This appears to be the default pst as this Inbox is where my new mail goes.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Gregory

ok - you need to set the new pst to default.

if corp mode, tools > services > delivery tab
    IMO mode, i'm not sure (i use corp <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>)

    Hi MJ,

I think that's the probloem. I use IMO and don't know how to set default pst. Outlook Help is no help (of course).

    Thanks,
    Gregory

If memory serves me correctly (I'm working on Outlook 2002 right now), right-click on Outlook Today, select Properties, and click on Deliver POP mail to this .pst (or something to that effect). Outlook will need to be restarted for the change to take effect.
