Windows LiveMail 2011: problem with pictures

LiveMail 2011 seems to have some unique cases that causes it to not forward pictures already in an e-mail (not as attachments) LiveMail wants to put the pictures into a SLIDESHOW, and then the pictures in the forwarded e-mail are blank,
and non-liveMail recipients do seem to not get the pictures.
Any ideas what the problem is? Can't find any referneces to this at Microsoft.

How are photos attached and what program is being used to send you the email you want to forward. ?

The recipients usually have outlook express, or hotmail.
The pictures that fail to forward are the one that are embeded in the e-mail.

That is one problem I have never experienced, not that I forward many items. I have sent mail with pics included and got a reply with them still showing.
Have you tried opening the mail before trying to forward it. ?

Yes - the emails have been opened.
The picture handling is some sort of 'enhancement' in Windows LiveMail 2011. It puts the embedded pictures into a SlidShow that some e-mail systems apparently cannot see.

How about totally removing all the newest versions of 'Windows Live Essentials' from your PC. Go here after you've done it, this is the one I'm using.

With WLM 2011 by default when Live Mail detects photos it converts the email to what Microsoft calls a "photo email" and the pictures are no longer embedded in the email. You can turn this off by going to File | Options | Compose (tab). Uncheck "Convert messages to photo emails ...". OK your way out. Close WLM & restart.

I did this, but it did not fix the problem with forwarding a received e-mail with imbedded pictures.
Nor does it prevent a new e-mail when you INSERT pictures from creating an album that cam also be seem on SkyDRIVE.

It appers to not want to forward the embedded pictures from AOL email.

If you are getting a placeholder for the pictures in the AOL mail, it is likely that the pictures are not really on your PC.

Hi, to help and understand your problem, I composed an email using my secondary client AOL.com, I inserted an image in the body of the message 12.6 kb jpg format below the text, plus an attachment 875 kb in pdf format. I sent it to my main client gmail, everything arrived intact. I then forwarded it to my friend next door, he got it at his hotmail address using Windows Live Mail 2011. All intact. He then forwarded it back to my AOL address, still intact.
I reckon it must be how the pictures were added.

FYI,
I did not have this problem in WLM 2009 but do in 2011. When I get emails with embedded pictures that have been forwarded several times very often they will have the blue or black lines down the side showing the times they've been forwarded. If I intend to forward to other recipients I always try to "clean up" the the prior address blocks and remove the lines. This is done easily in 2009 by opening the message as a forward and then deleting the address blocks, copying the body including pictures while being careful to only highlite the ending picture or HTML. I open a new message and paste the previously copied body and pictures. Works everytime unless you are working with an email from a Yahoo mail client, then you open it in Yahoo Mail and repeat the previous procedure to send from WLM 2009. This does not work for me in 2011 so I have UPGRADED to WLM 2009 again. As has been pointed out to do this you must also uninstall any Windows Live essentials installed with 2011.

I'm pretty sure I have WLM 2011 (I don't know how to find out, clicking Help doesn't help) and where is File/Options/Compose? I can't find it anywhere on the Home, Folders, View, or Accounts tabs. Am I missing something?

This is not the problem. It seems to be ONLY with AOL E-mails at this point. If they have embedded pictures, they get converted to SlideSHow Thumbnails - but not onto SkyDrive. Where the pictures were,is an empty box. The same set of pictures from another non-AOL e-mail forwards OK with the emails embedded as in the original.

Joe, I have WLM 2012 and I don't see File anywhere, composing or reading email. Am I missing something here?
