    Security

    Hi
Over in another forum in a galaxy far away from this, I am having a debate with another poster regarding security. He is suggesting that for safety one should disable Active Scripting, (no javascript!!) Active X Controls and Java.
My contention is that this is extreme and, provided you take other precautions, unnecessary. (For a start, you don't get Lex).
Is there any opinion here on the merits of either argument?

MerC, I don't think he means on trusted sites - just those you know nothing about.

    Hi
Unfortunately, the idea of trusted sites begs the question. Trusted sites are those that do not run nasty script, which is exactly what you're trying to guard against.
How are you going to know? If one of your sites inadvertently contracts, say the NIMDA virus, you're in for a bit of a surprise...
