    IE9 Search from address bar

I installed the IE9 RTM version, and then installed the final release of IE9.

When I was running the RTM version, I utilized the search from the address bar feature extensively- loved it. 9 times out of 10, IE would just open what it thought was the best result immediately. Google is my default search provider.

Now with the final release of IE9 installed, when I search from the address bar I am taken to a page of Google results. I preferred being taken to the top result (is that Im feeling lucky?). I have changed a few settings, but cannot see how to reinstate the original setting to open the best result. I did nothing to set the RTM version to that option.

Any ideas how to enable the change? Thanks in advance./ cel

I believe you meant the RC (release candidate) versions as RTM means Release To Manufacturing (i.e the final release). What you are seeing now is the behavior I see using Bing as the default search engine. You should experiment with Google settings.

To expand upon what Joe mentioned I have included an attachment showing where to change the default search provider.

Google has a feature called "I feel lucky" which immediately opens the top search result. Perhaps that is an option for the default search provider, separate from the regular Google search?

I have searched from the address bar and haven't noticed anything unusual.
I think you may have to set your preferences in Google for how you want Google to search.
