Angry Word 2010 - Heading styles

I have been using the normal.dotm whilst I have had Word 2010 and all my heading styles have been fine up to now. This morning, however, the spacing has changed. Apart from Heading 1, all our other headings are set with 6 pts spacing above and 12 pts below. This has always worked well. This morning, for some reason, if you follow one heading directly with another, with no body text inbetween, Word seems to ignore the 6 pts above the headings. However, if I put a carriage return in between the headings, or some body text, the heading shows correctly with the 6 pts above. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Why would it just change overnight - I'm the only person who can change the templates and I know I haven't done that. Any help would be appreciated.

    Setting for style

    Hi

Try this to check if a check box is set so that space is not added between styles of same name.

    Modify Style>>Format>>paragraph

I have no idea why settings should apparently change without conscious user intervention !!

    Cheers
