    Excel Gridlines (2000)

I have converted a Quattro Spreadsheet to Excel and everything looks great except I can't get the gridlines to appear in the view. I have checked under Tools, Option, View and Gridlines is checked. I can't even get gridlines to print from the page setup menu. If I check gridlines there a box is drawn around the outside border of each page. What is going on? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Is it possible that the cell fill color is set to the same color as the grid lines? Select all of the cells by clicking the little square in the upper left corner of the sheet. Then go to Format Cells, click on the Patterns tab, and then click on the No Color button.

Just an idea, but try setting the backgroung color to None. Normally if you apply a background color, even white or whatever the system color is, it hides the gridlines.
