    Win 2k recovery console

Win 2k SP-2, MMC 1.1. To allow access to more info than the console allows. The following is what I did.

" editing your local Group Policy settings as follows can grant you this access:

Type MMC from the Run menu. This will open a Microsoft Management Console called Console 1.
Choose Add/Remove Snap-in from the Console menu.
    Click the Add button.
Select Group Policy from the list and then click Add.
In the Group Policy Object box, make sure it says Local Computer and click Finish.
Click Close and then click OK.
Double-click on Local Computer Policy and then click on Computer Configuration.
Double-click on Windows Settings and then expand Security Settings.
Double-click on Local Policies and click on Security Options.
Double-click Recovery Console: Allow Floppy Copy And Access To All Drives And All Folders.
Click Enabled and then click OK."

Now when trying to reboot my CPU it hangs at the 'Starting Windows . For troubleshooting...Press F8'
Ther is no chance for pressing F8 and if I go into the recovery console I cannot find what to change. I really goofed on this one. Any ideas?

    Re: Win 2k recovery console

    Hi
Using Boot from CD (change BIOS) re-install Win2k - as far as the first re-boot only. This should be sufficient to restore your system.
