Windows 7 Pro Media Center and Player

    I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Windows Media Center and Player no longer will play music or audio.
    With other programs it does.
I have gone to Microsoft but so far can find nothing that helps.
When I try downloading and installing the Player, I am told that my program is a later one, so nothing is installed.
I cannot find Media Player 12 to install.
    Andy suggestions?

I found my problem. There were some files left from Corel Media Player. once I got rid of those, Windows Media Center and Player started working OK.

It is generally very important to completely uninstall an app. As you found out, many apps do not do a good job of this uninstall. That's why many of us are using third party uninstallers such as Revo uninstall, or Absolute Uninstaller for this chore.
