    Mouse and Keyboard Stop Working

I have a Lenovo T410 that with increasing frequency will not recognize my mouse or keyboard when I boot. It is in a docking station. I have to power down using the laptop's keyboard, move the USB cords for the mouse and keyboard to different ports, then reboot. Sometimes I have to move them more than once before they work.

Both the keyboard and mouse are Lenovo products.

Our IS folks have installed drivers a couple of times.

This has happened for three out of the last six mornings. Today, I had to power down and move the cords a couple of times before the mouse and keyboard worked. Occaisionally, they'll stop working in the middle of the day. No notice, all of a sudden they're DOA.

Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced such a thing? I've asked our IS folks to swap out the docking station, but they believe it is a software issue of some kind.

    Thanks!

    Nancy

Have you checked the power management settings for the devices & USB ports?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Our IS folks say the power settings are fine, and everything is connected according to how Lenovo wants it connected.

They swapped my mouse, keyboard and docking station today. We'll see how long that lasts...
