Do you have both firewalls turned off on purpose?

Control Panel, Windows Firewall. Should be a link to the left to Turn Windows Firewall On or Off.

It was probably just the fact that Online Armour had not fully activated with your first post. Did you perhaps restart afterward? Many apps do require a restart to fully enable the app.

Hi Ted, after it finished its installation, it asks for a restart and has had 3 or 4 since. I will keep an Attachment 27882 on it.
Sometimes third party firewalls take a relatively long time to initialize when you boot. You may see messages in the Action Center that will go away after a short time. The Windows firewall is still on until the third party firewall initializes and takes over.
Joe
Good info Joe, I had forgotten this little tidbit.

I have tried a few firewalls in my time, not really liking any except one, its Outpost FW Pro as it turns off Windows FW during install, none of the others do.Joe #7
Does this mean once initialization completes, W FW is disabled ?The Windows firewall is still on until the third party firewall initializes and takes over.
Yes it does

Yes, the Windows Firewall is disabled. During the boot process there is a time period where the networking components are initialized but a third party firewall will not yet be loaded. The Windows Firewall is running during this time. When the third party firewall notified Windows that it is ready the Windows firewall is disabled.
Joe
Alls well that ends well.
