    Question Windows 7 SP1

    Hi, Don't know if I should install windows 7 sp1 yet ? If I do decide I have the microsoft CD which I purchased, the better option from windows update downloaded ???? many thanks

    Make an imaged backup of your operating system prior to the service pack installation.
    If you can download the service pack and install as in 'off-line installation' method, it may be less problematic.

    If you have the SP1 CD from Microsoft there is no reason to download the offline installer. In my experience the full SP1 is a better method than Windows Update.

    I would also recommend a complete HD Image prior to the installation. This way if something unexpected happens, you can restore in a matter of minutes. Check out the various posts on Imaging in the Security and Backups forum.
