    autorun dialog box

running windows 7 and IE9 on a HP Slimline desktop. My autorun dialog box flashes but does not stay open when I insert a USB flash drive.

I was going to point you how to turn autorun on/off (here is one example: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...e-autorun.html). But the fact that the dialog appears and goes away right away tells me that you might have some kind of "security" software running on your PC, and that software is looking for autorun popups and killing them. In some case you can right-click the drive letter for the USB within Explorer and select autorun (or autoplay). Of course, if all you want to do is view the files on the USB drive, you can just open the drive in Explorer.
