    Opening new tabs in IE9 from favorites

    Despite myself, I am starting to prefer IE9; I like the way it renders pages and the overall look.
    One thing I have yet to figure out as yet; when you try to open a site from your favorites list, it does not open in a new tab, it just takes your current page to the site.
    What are the settings to get this to happen? In Firefox, it is just a right click to do so.

    When you hover on a link a little blue arrow appears. Click on the arrow, or use CTRL+Enter, or right click and select "open in new tab" to open in a new tab.

    In Internet Options, there is an area to set Options for Tabbed Browsing as shown below:

    TabbedBrowsingOption.jpg

    Internet Options, Tabs, Settings.

    Enable Tabbed Browsing enabled, then Open Links from other programs, A new tab in current window.

    See if this works.

    I think all browsers now support Ctrl+click for open in a new tab and Shift+click for open in a new window. This should work for Favorites/Bookmarks, and for links in web pages.

    Edit: Actually, not true in IE8. Haven't tried IE9 yet.

    There is no way to do it from the favorites section, instead;
    Right click on the little gray square next to your current tab to open a new one, then go to your favorites.
