    Explorer.exe error

On a Windows 2000 Professional computer when a particular user logs in he immediately gets an error -- Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. This error keeps popping up over and over and nothing works. However if I make them an "administrator" they don't get the error, but this is not a good idea.

    Anyone have an idea?

    Re: Explorer.exe error

Almost sounds like they don't have permission for their own Documents and Settings folder.
Has this just started happening, or since you created the profile?
What groups are they a member of?
It may be simpler just to delete and recreate them as a user.

    Re: Explorer.exe error

That could be it. However when I did that I messed up some other stuff but I did not get the explorer.exe error. This is a computer for the public in a library and I have locked down many things with local group policy so when I removed and then added my user some of that is messed up.

Thanks -- I am on the right track.
