You can download from Amazon.com for around $.99 per song. Have you checked out Napster?

A nice free site for "listening" to music is Pandora...
    About Pandora

It gives 40 hours free "listening" per month. Pandora also gives options to buy songs you like.

Check out the Zune Pass at Zune Marketplace. You get unlimited access to the music in Zune Marketplace with Zune Pass. Download as many songs as you like and listen to them for as long as you keep your Zune Pass up to date. You also get to keep 10 of your favorite songs each month, forever.

Current prices are $14.99 USD per month or $149.99 USD per year paid in advance.

I know this is an old thread but perhaps you will read it.
Try 'aTube Catcher'. Works very well for me.

The advantage of aTube Catcher is that it is entirely free and legal.

I believe this only does video's. Maybe you can separate the music from it but don't think so

It does videos and MP3 music and does it well. Top right hand side of task bar.

I'm personally not a stickler for legality when it comes to downloading music, but I'm about 99% certain this isn't a viable legal option. From what I can tell you would use it to download videos and extract the music from them, or capture streaming music from a site such as Pandora or Last.fm.

    Please explain.

Try this for a music source

I have used the free 'RadioSure' application for over a year now, and love it. It'll record the streaming music, the album artwork and separate each recorded track. Each saved track will have the MP3 tags. The paid-for version will record 10 stations simultaneously.

Tunes cost either 49 cents or 79 cents at www.emusic.com. They have quite a variety of music.
