    Delete pages (Word97-SR2)

    How do you delete pages in Word?

    In PageMaker it's easy... Remove pages (right from the menu)
    Since this is a word processor and not a layout application, I'm sure it's a lot more complicated.

    Can I assume that it's got something to do with bookmarks and ranges?

    Re: Delete pages (Word97-SR2)

    Gazman,

    Microsoft, in their wisdom, have deigned to virtually ignore pages in Word97, which is my current word processor. In the good old days when I used WordPerfect 5.1 the selection of pages was always an option.

    However there is in Word97 at least Ctrl + Page Up to goto the end of the previous page and likewise Ctrl + Page Down to go to the start of the next page. There is also F8 (Extend Selection).

    So to delete the current page in word you would need to use Ctrl + Page Up to go the the start of the page, then press F8 to extend selection, and then use Ctrl + Page Down and then delete.

    We need a macro to for Select Page to go on the edit menu with Select Para and Select All.

    Hope this helps.

    The following macro will delete the current page (i.e. page which contains selection or insertion point):

    Public Sub DeleteCurrentPage()
    ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("Page").Range.Delete
    End Sub
