    start up issue

    Hi,
The last several times that I have turned my Win XP on instead of just coming up in windows it gives me a coice of pressing either F1 or F2.
    What has happened ?
How do I stop this from happening ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Phil

Prompt to press F1/F2 each time computer boots
    1. New hardware has been recently installed.
    2. Error or confliction with settings in CMOS.
    3. CMOS battery is bad or failing.
The first and simplest thing to do would be to enter your setup, "save" and exit again.

    Thanks for your response Clint.
I will try the "setup" save and exit 1st.
I checked my cmos battery in the device manager and it said it was working properly. Is there a better way to check the battery ?
I have not added any new hardware that I recall.
    Once again thanks.

Yeah, if your computer is older than 2-3 years a replacement may be in order, especially in light of a related issue.
My computer is approx 3-4 years old but I have not encountered any problems related to it, so until I do I'll keep on truck'n with the same bat.
