    Lost volume control in Taskbar

Well I have done it again.
This time the volume control in my Taskbar at the bottom right side of the desktop is missing.
I tried right clicking the Taskbar to open the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window, then selecting the "Notification Area" tab. Under system icons I have four checkbox options. The Power and Clock options are checked, but the Volume and Network options are Grayed out and will not check.

I need help trying to figure this one out.

    Thanks
    Richard Spring

    Thank you Jerry.

I ran the Microsoft Fix twice and it corrected the "Network" check box, but the "Volume" check box is still grayed out.
Any other thoughts on a solution.

    Thanks,
    Richard Spring

    Jerry:

I ran the "Fix" five times yesterday and today. The last time it finally took.
Must be a "Senior" machine - slow and old like me.

    Thanks,
