Copying sheets to a new workbook 2007
We have just upgraded to 2007.
I use macros to create project files. I have a master projects file in which I hold standard project reporting worksheets. By selecting a project from the available list and running the macro, the project sheets are populated with the relevant data and then exported to a new workbook, and saved under the new project file name.
Under 2003 the above process ran quite quickly. I have updated the process so that all the files are now of type .xlsm rather than just .xls. However the process of copying the sheets to the new workbook now takes up to 45 seconds per sheet. Given that I have 100 project reports to run each month, each of which has 7 sheets in it, this is now becoming quite time consuming.
I realise that the problem relates to the fact that links exist between some of the sheets in each project report. However these links did not slow excel 2003 that much.
Can anybody please advise if there is some way of speeding up the copying sheets process.
