    Internet connectivity problems

I can connect to the internet fine in the morning, receive email and use internet explorer. I cannot use the internet in the afternoon or at night after approximately 4PM EST even though my modem indicates (via lights on modem) I am connected but I still cannot access IE, Outlook mail or AIM, also AIM reads "AIM (offline)" even though the lights on my modem indicate I am connected to the internet.
I am using Windows 7 32 bit with 4 GB ram on a 250GB hard drive, IE8, and connect via DSL.

Have you checked your DSL modem settings for any time restrictions?

Have you tried to contact your ISP? Surely, such regularity in the occurrance cannot be explained by technical issues from your side...

Check out the WiFi in your area for interference. Someone on the same WiFi channel might be interfering with your Internet Connection. A good tool for looking into all of this is Xirrus WiFi Inspector.

Chech to see if any antivirus software is set to run at that time of day. My PCTools security suite almost shuts my computer down when doing its check automatically.
