Unhappy Transferring OL 2003 to 2010

I just got a new Win7 laptop and want to transfer my Office 2003 files from my old laptop (WinXP) to Office 2010 Pro on the new one. The 2003 Outlook.pst file is not in the best shape. It probably has some corruption, which I periodically clean using Scan.pst. What is the best way to get the cleanest possible Outlook.pst file converted into Outlook 2010?

Copy the old PST file to some location on the new PC. Let Outlook 2010 create a new PST file. In Outlook 2010 use File | Open | Open Outlook data file and open the old PST file. The drag and drop what you want from the old PST file to the new account. When finished close the old PST file. You may want to leave it around on the new PC for a while just to make sure you did not miss transferring something.
