    Patch Watch and missing patches

Ms Bradley has provided a wonderful tool with her monthly patch watch chart!

In the May 12 releases was KB 2540162 which says Office 2007 compatibility.
This one came in on my laptop and installed just fine.

It did NOT come in on my desktop machine, and when I go to MS updates and try to download this one, it kicks me back the the local Win updates screen apparently assuming that I have it. Well, sorry MS, but it just ain't here!

Both these machines are running the same version of Office 2007, i.e. installed from the same 3 user package.

What's the workaround when MS update acts this way.

Perhaps you could just download the patch here and install it that way.

Thanks Ted, I had not landed on THAT update page yet, and when I try it, I get the message, paraphrasing, that nothing is installed on this machine that needs it. HUH?
As I said before, MS Office 2007 IS on this machine and it is from the very same source as on my laptop.

    Won't worry about it further.

Office 2007 compat usually comes down when you have a 2003-ish era application or you've downloaded an office era file from the web. One machine may indeed get offered an update and the other does not. The updates look for key items, folders, registry keys and you may have it on one, and not on the other.
