USB stick file/folder names show only 20 characters + ... in XYplorer

Sometime in the middle of the past week (~5/12), my four USB sticks started showing file and folders names truncated with only 20 characters, including spaces, followed by three dots. In addition, file/folder names don't disappear after deleting without a referesh. Now, this only occurs in XYplorer file manager, not in Windows Explorer, and continues even after reformatting the sticks (sticks in FAT, FAT32, NTFS). None of this occurs with my three HDDs, and changing the USB port front to back of computer doesn't solve it. Since I install the beta builds of the XYplorer, and lately they've been coming every day, my first assumption is that's the culprit. However, the program's rep denies any recent changes would cause it, and he doesn't see it on his computer. While I still favor XYplorer as the culprit, are there any other possibilities to look at? Since the sticks are readable, I assume it's not the USB controller, and the only other change here this week was MS's update, which for XP only affected Office, I think. Thanks,

Try to uninstall the app in question and see what happens. If the names are shown correctly with Windows Explorer, use it. Beta software is just that, it is in testing phase and has not been released for general use.

Solved. A beta apparently reset some view/column settings for one pane.
