    Winamp Alternatives for Win7 64-bit

I have used Winamp for years to play streaming internet radio and the occasional mp3 and other audio media.

Recently, on my Win7 64-bit system, Winamp 5.61 has been acting a bit flaky. For example, Winamp "hung" after I opened and then closed a Windows Explorer window (specifically Recycle Bin to empty it). Specially, Winamp did not properly refresh on my desktop (display).

Does anyone have any other recommendations for media players similar to Winamp. (I am not interested in iTunes as I found it bloated and don't want to patronize Apple if I do not have to.) Thanks.

I dumped Winamp several years ago. I now use MediaMonkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com/). I can't say enough good things about it. I like it so much I ponied up for the paid version to help keep them in development.

I use MediaMonkey to store all my music and it also streams. The free version does everything you need.

    cheers, Paul

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
