    Question HTML code

    Hi Loungers, what is HTML code, which is currently OFF in WSL. Any plans to enable it ?.

    HTML is the language of the web. If you view the source of a web page, you will see the HTML. I believe XTML (or some such) is a newer version of HTML. HTML5 is the latest and greatest if I'm not mistaken. This is a very simplistic explanation. This is a portion of the source code for your question:

    If you turn on the Menu bar in IE9, you can select View, Source to see this.

    I believe this means you cannot post and / or answer questions using HTML. The system is set up for the average user, and the average user does not know HTML coding and could screw things up. Things are set up for normal language.

    For security reasons -- to prevent user A from attacking user B (XSS attack) -- most forums do not enable HTML. It's very hard to filter. BBCode is safer.
