    Automatic Receive Won't (Outlook 2000 SR1)

I am using WinFax Pro10. I can send faxes. Sometimes I can manually receive faxes. But automatic receive doesn't work. The modem is U.S. Robotics 56K PCI. In every other respect the modem seems to be working fine. The TAPI connection is what's failing. I think. I can set the fax to Com Port 5 and it works fine. But, then I can't send or receive E-mail or use the internet. I tried uninstalling the WinFax Pro 10 and installed the Symantec Fax Starter Edition that came with my Office 2000 Professional and it sends ok but won't receive. Looking at the Symantec support site I see 1 to 5 questions just like this every day. Is there a fix?

    Re: Automatic Receive Won't (Outlook 2000 SR1)

Thanks to Microsoft Support personnel for fixing the problem. A 5 hour over the phone search identified Dial Up Networking as the culprit holding my modem hostage because MS Task Scheduler was running. Got rid of Task Scheduler. Problem solved. Thanks to Cara at Outlook Support and Justin at Windows 98.
