Windows & Firewall Versus 3rd Party

I am getting conflicting info, need some opinions. Before new PC I was using Agnitum Outpost Firewall.

I have switched from the Windows firewall to Online Armor ++ firewall. There is a free version available, but after using the free version for a couple of weeks, I was so impressed I bought the top offering from them. It works very nicely with my MSE AV/AM and my router hardware firewall.

The Windows firewall is probably sufficient particularly if you have a router with a firewall. I've been running with the Windows firewall only since Vista and have had no problems.

No router firewall and I really have no complaint with my outpost firewall but had heard so much about windows supposedly having a better program with 7 version.

Since we have been on Windows 7 we have been using the built in firewall behind a router and have had NO issues.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Well, I got the Outpost Firewall for Windows 7-64 bit downloaded and installed and had a pleasant surprise, there was no extra charge and It loaded and installed smoothly.

If you like Outpost and have not had any problems with it keep it. As I posted before I've not had any problems with the Windows firewall so I don't see the need for me to install more third party software.

Yes I have found that once you get something that works, keep it. The problem is that every 4 or 5 years the windows playing field changes and old friends/applications sometimes are left by the roadside.
