    Boot Troubles

I'd like to use a couple of older hard drives. The seem to be infected with Western Digital's EZ-BIOS. I'd like to get rid of these critters. Partition Magic wont handle them, nor will FDISK because of the EZ-BIOS interface. Then when I try to run them using EZ-BIOS the CD drives wont work. Message is like, "CDR101 cannot read E:" So I don't get both the hard and CD drives to work at the same time. (Can't load Windows without the pair.) What to do?

Sound's like a problem I had with my Linux installation last week. The solution for that was "fdisk /mbr".

Correct. The "/mbr" switch tells fdisk to reset the Master Boot Record.
