    Auto-Replacing Files in Windows 7?

Is there some type of automatice file replacement inWindows 7 so that if changes are made to a file, specifically imageres.dll, it will be replaced?

When that happened the firsst time I thought I was going nuts, so I redid the changes, and darned if it didn't happen again.

How can I stop that from happening?

It is a protected file so Windows will try to restore it. Even if you successfully change the file a service pack will replace the file. Also, a patch for Windows Explorer is likely to replace it.

    What tool are you using?

That's where you can modify the start sound...And it doesn't replace it quite Joe. Instead of putting back the original, it just shuts it off. And this is new, because I had done this before and up until about a month or so ago it was working fine.
