    How to fix win xp virtual printer drivers will not install?

    Windows xp;
    Virtual pdf printers are not shown in available printers, this applies to Foxit and Nitro.
    Have tried both web sites but cannot find answer.

    If you are using the Foxit Reader or NitroPDF Reader there will not be a PDF print driver. That would only be available in a product to create PDFs.

    thanks Joe,
    I have the complete Nitro and foxit Phantom.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled both, but still no printers listed.
    any suggestions appreciated.

    Are you logged in under an admin account when installing the software?

    I am logged in under an admin account.
    I have uninstalled my other printers and then reinstalled the pdf softwares, no success.
    I was able to easily install my hp printer afterward.
    I don't think it's the pdf programs, It appears to be a quirk with my win xp.

    Have you checked for files/folders hanging around after the uninstall?

    Have you checked the registry after the uninstall?

    I checked for files/folders after the uninstall and deleted the folders that were left.

    I also checked the registry after the uninstall to make sure there were no leftovers.

    Do you have another account that is a member of the admin group which you could use to try the install?

    I guess you could try a repair install of XP. That sure seems extreme for this but I'm out of other ideas.
