Question How to resurrect old Chrome bookmarks?

Installed fresh Win 7 build on a new hard drive 10 days ago but foolishly forgot to backup my Chrome bookmarks. I have the old (XP) build still on the old hard drive, which I'm using as a secondary disk, and find a file called simply "Bookmarks" (no extension) in:

    <username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Date\Default

    Next to it is "Bookmarks.bak"

I've tried to import each of the files but Chrome insists on importing an HTML file. I even tried tacking on ".htm" and ".html" but no joy.

Latest version of Chrome was installed on the old disk.

    Help!

    From the old XP -
Can you load Chrome and Export Bookmarks?
They will Export as an html file.

You may have to disable the new drive in your BIOS (or disconnect the cables) to get the old XP to load up.
