    Welcome to the Lounge!!!

You can turn on Autoarchive and then set the Autoarchive parameters for the Calendar to suit you needs. The autoarchive settings will apply to all appointments.

This does not help me. I want only single event in a series of recurring events (i.e. the same appointment each day at 10AM) to self-delete (auto-delete) at the end of the time period for that event, but leave the remaining events in the series intact.

AFAIK, you can not automatically delete any event without using autoarchive. When deleting a recurring event you asked whether you want to delete the occurrence or the series. You may be able to write code to do this but I'm not am Office coder so I can't help there.
