    Question Internet Explorer 9.0.1

Has anyone installed the update to IE9? I understand this was issued as of today.
Is this true or false information?

It is a patch that was released as part of the monthly Microsoft updates. I've installed it on several machines without any problems.

Same here. It appears to be a cummulative security patch. It is also recommended to be installed in the newsletter.

I just installed all important updates and IE 9.0.1 wasn't on the list, so I'll install it manually. Could it have appeared as an optional update?

Joe, I'm in a state of utter confusion. My Internet Explorer shows that I have version: 9.0.8112.1642. Update Version: 9.0.1 (KB 2530548). Yet when I looked at Update History, that KB isn't listed and Belarc Advisor reports it as missing. When I ran Windows Update that particular KB was not available for download (because it has been installed).

Why does it not appear in Update History and why does Belarc report it missing when it's installed, according to IE 9?

It shows on my systems as being installed. Are you looking at Control Panel | Programs | View Installed Updates?

I found Programs & Features in Control Panel and viewed Installed Updates. Knowledge Base 2530548 is listed as installed.

Again I ask why does it not show up in Update History and in Belarc Advisor? I'm not concerned that it does show in those two places, both can be ignored, just curious.

It shows for me on my systems in Update History & Belarc Advisor. You have to look closely. In Control Panel | System and Security | Windows Update | View Update History I have the display set to sort fixes descending by date installed. In Belarc Advisor the fix shows in ascending KB number order under Windows 7.
