    IE8 Security

I have a web site I need to go to and I when I'm there I have some areas on the page that are defined by square or rectangular boxes that have a small box with a red X in it. I am unable to show or display what is in the defined area. I feel there is a security setting that does not allow these items to be displayed. I know the display areas work because I have another computer that displays everything when I go to that page. I would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Jim

Internet Options, Security Tab, scroll down to multimedia section and see if Show image download placeholders is unchecked and Show Pictures is checked:

The items in the multimeda section you referred to were like you said on both computers. The one computer still does not display anything in the defined area.
    Thanks

Is the web site in the "Restricted Sites"?

Does it make any difference if you add it to "Safe Sites"?

Have you tried running IE with addons disabled?
