    XP Install verification

My retail copy of XP requires verification from my Win98 disc, ie it is an upgrade version, however my OLD Win98 disc is getting old, I would like to "slipstream" whatever file XP looks for on the '98 disc. Can someone tell me which file/s I need to add to the WinXp disc to make a single bootable/install file, or could I simply combine the XP and the '98 together on a DVD. (I do not have a skull and cross-bones across my back).

    I would appreciate advice here,

    Dave.

You should be able to reinstall Win XP without reactivation. This method outlines the steps. I hope this answers your problem. I realize it's not an exact answer, but I do not know of a way to do what you wish. You could copy your Win 98 disk onto another CD to give a new CD. Perhaps that would help.
