IE 9 downloaded BETA still there

downloaded IE 9.. i previously had downloaded the beta version of ie9......... my browser still says I have the BETA....under UPDATE VERSION ..I thought ie 9 would see that and uninstall and install the regular ie9,as i have no way to uninstall it (or do I)..i looked under windows components and only see the ie 8 which i know i can't delete..any suggestions as to how to do this..or am i stuck with this beta version...
by the way I use Chrome most of the time..

Installing IE 9 will get you rid of the beta. If it hasn't, probably it's better to uninstall what you have. To uninstall, you need to choose View Installed Updates and Internet Explorer 9 will shows as an update to Windows.

    Angry

Beta IE9 is not listed..in the updates...downloading windows IE 9 has failed 2 times..even with antivirus and firewall disabled..everything works fine I guess
windows 7 pro installed on Lenovo Thinkpad
    32 bit
    ram 3gb

you know I can live without getting rid of Beta but their really should be a way to get rid of it...no more Betas for me

That's very weird. I uninstalled IE 9 beta from my laptop quite before the official IE 9 release, as it wasn't stable and had no issues. This is an "official" recommended procedure to uninstall IE 9 beta: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...6-4a6abd9a0f9b

So you do have IE 9 installed? If so, what is the version number?

That's definitively a beta version number.
You sure you can't find it as a Windows update, in the middle of all the windows updates you may have done?

Not sure if this would help, but you could try running sfc / scannow.

is it possible that I have already deleted it...I was having some compatibility issues with some video editing software..so I may have deleted it at that time
..but that doesn't explain why my IE says I still have the beta...or why I can't download the IE 9 regular version. that download has failed 2 times..
    what is sfc/scannow

Sfc is System File Checker. It will run a check of your system files and attempt to repair errors that it may find.

You can't download IE 9 or it downloads and it can't be installed?

Try running sfc /scannow as I suggested. See what is reported by sfc and then try installing IE 9 again.
